How do you buy and match a gold ring to a diamond?

I bought a high-quality diamond, but it doesn't look good in a ring - what's the reason?

It is not enough to buy a quality diamond. The way the diamond is set and the shape of the ring affect the light reflection of the diamond.

The diamond needs light and it should be as open as possible. The diamond ring in gold or embedded in thick teeth causes the light rays to be blocked and therefore the diamond looks less good.

Alternatively, in order to see the diamond, the diameter of the diamond must be at least 2 times the width of the gold that is under the diamond. Otherwise, when viewed from above (the dew on ) the diamond "sinks" in the gold and is not reflected.

What type of gold is used in the rings?

Gold 14 = 58% pure gold + 42% other metals that give strength to gold

Gold 18 = 75% pure gold + 25% other metals

What is the difference between 14 yellow gold and 18 yellow gold?

Gold 14- harder, less yellow, cheaper

Gold is a soft material and we must mix it with other metals in order to strengthen it. 14 gold has more metal and less gold, so it is less yellow, harder and costs less.

What is white gold?

White gold = yellow gold with rhodium plating (a metal from the platinum family) that gives the ring a shiny silver appearance.

What is the best gold for an engagement ring?

White or yellow gold is a question of fashion and sometimes also the skin tone of the wearer of the ring.

It should also be taken into account that yellowish diamonds are suitable for yellow gold and white diamonds for white gold.

In an engagement ring, gold is better 14. The ring holds a diamond and is worn every day. That is why it is important to be rigid.

I would like to buy a white gold engagement ring, which is better 14 or 18 gold?

In white gold, in any case, 14 is better

Since white gold is coated yellow gold, it makes no sense to buy 18 gold and pay more since anyway we don't enjoy the excessive yellowness of 18 gold since we see a white coating.

Whoever offers 18 white gold for sale and does not inform the buyer that it is actually a waste = lack of due disclosure
